Academic Awards & Honors

Awards and distinctions are given to students who achieve academic excellence at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

President’s List

Students who reached the highest level of academic excellence by maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the course of a semester are placed on the President’s List. Requirements include:

  1. The student must be enrolled in a degree or diploma program.
  2. The student must be registered for at least 12 credit hours of level 100 classes. Remedial classes (below level 100) are not considered.
  3. The student must have a 4.000 Term GPA at the end of the term.

Spring 2024 President’s List

Dean’s List

Students who reached a high level of academic excellence by maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA throughout the course of a semester are placed on the Dean’s List. Requirements include:

  1. The student must be in a degree or diploma program.
  2. The student must be registered for at least 12 credit hours of level 100 classes. Remedial classes (below level 100) are not considered.
  3. The student must have a 3.500 – 3.999 Term GPA at the end of term to be placed on the Deans’ List.

Graduate Honors

Honors are recognized at the commencement ceremony based on the Fall GPA. Recognition of graduate honors is noted on a student’s degree or diploma and official college transcript based on the final GPA. Certificate programs are not eligible for honor status.

  1. Highest Honors – Students who graduate with a diploma or degree who have earned a GPA of 4.0. (gold cord and gold tassel)
  2. Honors – Students who graduate with a diploma or degree who have earned a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99. (gold tassel)

President’s Award

The President’s Award is presented at graduation to a deserving student selected by a faculty and staff committee. To be eligible for this award, a student must be enrolled on a full-time basis during the year of nomination and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must exhibit and promote good student morale and demonstrate a genuine concern for FTCC and its role in the community.

How to get a Replacement Diploma?

Complete the Replacement Diploma Order form. We will ship your diploma within 4-6 weeks of your request.

When will we receive our degrees/diplomas/certificates?

Degrees/diplomas/certificates will be mailed out by the following dates:

  • Fall graduates: April 30th
  • Spring graduates: June 30th
  • Summer graduates: August 31st

What size are the degrees/diplomas/certificates?

  • The degrees, diplomas, and certificates measure 8.5” X 11”

I have moved recently; can I change my address?

  • Update your address using the Student Data Change form: http://forms.faytechcc.edu/RegistrarDataChange/index.asp
  • Email graduation@faytechcc.edu and notify us of the change.

Fees & Payments

The graduation fee is $25 per degree or diploma program. Students graduating from multiple programs will need to pay the fee for each program. Student’s applying for a certificate only (no degree or diploma) will need to pay the $25 fee per certificate.
Fees apply to all graduates, regardless of whether or not they choose to participate in the commencement ceremony.

The graduation fee includes:

  • One (1) Official Transcript
  • Degree, Diploma, and/or Certificate
  • Cap, Gown & Tassel (black tassel with graduation year)
  • Diploma cover
Payment

Graduation Fees are paid at the time of application in Self-Service.
Acceptable forms of payment include Mastercard, Visa, or other Credit Card.

Refund Policy

Students may apply for a graduation refund until August of that academic calendar year. For exact dates please reference the Application Dates & Deadlines.
To apply for a refund, you may submit a Request for Graduation Fee Refund Form.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • I wasn’t able to make payment when I applied. How do I go back in and make payment now?
    Login to Self-Service, select Student Finance, Select Make a Payment
  • What if I paid for graduation, but received correspondence that I am not eligible?
    You may submit a Request for Graduation Fee Refund Form for the application fee for the current academic calendar year ONLY (Fall, Spring, Summer terms). Please review the Application Dates & Deadlines for cut off dates on the request for graduation fee refund form.

    Make sure to contact your advisor to discuss graduation eligibility. A new graduation application will need to be submitted for the following academic year.

Order Transcripts

Each Graduate receives one (1) official transcript that is mailed out at the end of the term that they are graduating from. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that their address on file is current.

Requirements for Graduation

To be eligible for graduation, a student must:

  1. Successfully complete all curriculum program requirements
  2. Achieve sufficient quality points to average a 2.0 GPA (cumulative and major)
  3. Achieve passing grades in all required hours
  4. A studentMUST be enrolled in the last class(es) needed for program completion in order to apply for graduation
  5. Complete a minimum of 25% of resident credit at FTCC
  6. Apply and pay for graduation in Self-Service per degree, diploma, and/or certificate, by the appropriate deadline
  7. All Financial Aid Loan borrowers are required to complete an Exit Counseling Survey
  8. Complete the FTCC Exit Survey
  9. Continue to monitor your student email for any notifications

Note: Pay close attention to item #4 (student MUST be enrolled in the last class(es) needed for program completion)

Steps to apply for Graduation

Before applying for graduation, contact your Advisor or your Department to ensure you are on track to complete your program requirements. They will also be able to answer questions about your GPA, honor status, and graduation eligibility.

Your Advisor can be found on the Advising tab in Student Planning. Login to Self-Service and click on Student Planning to contact your advisor.

Application Instructions:

  1. Login to Self-Service
  2. Select Graduation Overview
  3. Select Apply on the program you want to apply for
  4. Complete the application form
  5. Proceed to payment, and submit your $25 payment online
